Coral Coast

During my studies, I took a trip to Cairns in the midst of my trimester. At the time, I was enrolled in a typography class, where the brief was to create a typeface inspired by anything we liked. Spending days out on the reef, I became fascinated by the organic forms of the coral on the sea floor.

The soft-edged, bubbly shapes of the coral, friendly and full of character, became my muse. From this inspiration, I designed a single organic ‘O’ shape that became the foundation for Coral Coast, a typeface built from the natural beauty of the reef itself.
